  ENGLISH IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS When using your iron, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following: READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS. ■ Use iron only for its intended use. ■ To protect against a risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in water or other liquid. ■ The iron should always be turned to "O" before plugging into or unplugging from an outlet. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet; instead grasp plug and pull to disconnect. ■ Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces.

On first use only, iron over an old cotton cloth using steps 1 thru 5 below on setting 5 or above (and the SURGE button for models with that function) to remove any protective surface treatments. 1. Using a clean cup, pour water into one of the two openings in the Water Fill Hole until the level reaches the MAX mark on the Water Window (A). Refill as needed.

  E F SPRAY CAUTION: When unwrapping the cord for iron use, be sure there are no twists/kinks in the wire. Over time, twists may result in an electrical short. STEAM IRONING - SURE STEAM TM SYSTEM The Sure Steam™ System automatically produces steam when you turn the Temperature Selector Dial between settings 4 & 7 (C). Be sure there is water in the reservoir. Steam is automatically turned off between settings 0-3. SURGE OF STEAM (Selected Models Only) Be sure there is water in the reservoir.

  SPRAY (Selected Models Only) Be sure the iron is filled with water. On first use, pump the SPRAY button 10 times. Use SPRAY to dampen tough wrinkles at any setting. (F) DRY IRONING G Turn the Temperature Selector Dial to Setting 1, 2, or 3 (DRY) to iron without steam (G). The Sure Steam™ System will automatically turn off. To dry iron at higher settings, empty the water from the reservoir to prevent steaming. CARE OF THE IRON 1. It is not necessary to empty the water after each use.
